Dr. Aminath Jameel

Founder

A nurse by profession, Dr. Aminath Jameel joined the Government Hospital in 1971 and later served as Director of Allied Health Services Training Centre for nine years, training healthcare workers. She acquired a MSc in Community Health Nursing from Madras University and a PhD in Health Science from Latrobe University in Melbourne, Australia. Her doctoral thesis was on self-care amongst elderly in the Maldives, and served as the inspiration for the formation of Aged Care Maldives. Dr. Aminath Jameel has held several senior government positions, most notably, serving as the Minister of Health and Family from 2008 to 2012.

Mohamed Ismail Maniku

Founder

Mohamed Ismail Maniku is a retired senior civil servant with experience in tourism and business. Following his studies in International Relations, he joined the foreign service in 1971. He served in several prominent positions such as the Deputy Minister of Health and Director of Civil Aviation, before retiring in 1992.

Umana Noordeen

Member

Member Physiotherapist and integrative wellness specialist. A long-standing member of ACM. Since its inception, Umana has volunteered her support to promote independence, and quality of life among older persons.
